MAKING FRIENDS AND KEEPING THEM

A GROUP FOR 5 TO 8 YEAR OLDS

Social skills groups teach and develop skills and strategies to reduce frustration at home and at school, with family, and with friends.

  

Our groups will provide sequenced, active, focused and explicit training for personal and social skills. 

There will be group goals and individual goals for each child.

 

Group Objectives:                 

  • Observing and understanding non-verbal cues
  • Self awareness and understanding impact of own actions on others
  • Assertiveness skills in the classroom and in the playground
  • Taking responsibility for own responses

 

Dates:     

Tuesday         January 19                      12.00 to 1.30pm

Wednesday   January 20                      12.00 to 1.30pm

Thursday        January 21                      12.00 to 1.30pm

Friday             January 22                      12.00 to 1.30pm

 

Please bring a packed school lunch.

 

Cost:     $360 per child

A GROUP FOR ALL CHILDREN STARTING SCHOOL IN 2010

 

Group Objectives:                 

  • Classroom listening skills
  • Following instructions
  • Asking/answering questions
  • Telling news
  • Caring for friends
  • Playground social skills

Dates:     

Monday          January 18                      9.30 to 11.00am

Tuesday         January 19                      9.30 to 11.00am

Wednesday   January 20                      9.30 to 11.00am

Thursday        January 21                      9.30 to 11.00am
